Chevrolet Offers Three Months of Free OnStar® Coverage this Winter

OnStar

More than 19 million Chevrolet customers are eligible to receive up to three months of complimentary OnStar® coverage starting Jan. 9. The offer provides drivers with access to essential services like Automatic Crash Response, Roadside Assistance, Emergency Services, and Crisis Assist, all of which provides extra confidence when driving in the snow.

“These services can help Chevy customers drive with confidence during some of the most dangerous times to be on the road,” said Paul Edwards, U.S. vice president of Chevrolet Marketing. “With OnStar, we’re bringing peace of mind to owners, knowing that an advisor is ready to help.”

OnStar® is accessible through the Chevrolet touchscreen or phone apps. To receive your free three months, you need only press the blue OnStar® button in your vehicle and tell the advisor that you’d like the complimentary OnStar® Safety & Security offer. You’ll get one month regardless and two additional months if you put a credit card on file for monthly renewal.

The offer is good through Jan. 23 and any eligible and properly equipped Chevrolet 2006 or newer qualifies. If you have any more questions about the OnStar® Safety & Security, OnStar® services, or the latest Chevrolet vehicles, stop into Bill Roberts Chevrolet Buick.

What Are Certified Pre-Owned Vehicles?

Used cars are a great way to save big on buying your next vehicle, but the downside is that buying used comes with its own set of risks. When you find that perfect used car at a low price, you might be worried if it’s too good to be true, with a host of undetectable mechanical failures waiting under the surface. You can bypass these concerns by purchasing certified pre-owned vehicles instead of used ones. Certified pre-owned, or CPO, programs are run by auto manufacturers so customers have access to more reliable previously-loved cars.

Take Chevy, for example. Chevrolet requires all vehicles used in their CPO program to be less than six years old and to have less than 75,000 miles on the odometer. In addition, customers get benefits like a warranty, a schedule maintenance plan that covers two visits, a free Vehicle History Report, and more. The way it works is that Chevy takes a used vehicle that’s been given back to the dealership and subjects it to a 172-point inspection. If the vehicle passes the tests, it gets certified.

We have a whole host of certified pre-owned vehicles on our lot here at Bill Roberts Chevrolet. If you want an option for buying a new ride that is affordable and reliable, opt for Chevrolet’s CPO program.

2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE Blitzes Nürburgring Lap Record

The standard Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 set a Nürburgring record, but the brand wanted to kick it up a notch with the new Camaro ZL1 1LE. When equipped with the 1LE package, the ZL1 gets all kinds of performance upgrades that make it a natural on the racetrack. In June, Chevy teased enthusiasts with a short video of the track, hinting that that Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE had set a new Nürburgring lap record. A few days later, the brand followed it up with a video confirming that, yes, the ZL1 1LE did just that.

Chevrolet unveiled a video of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE taking the ‘Ring by storm, tearing up the track and eventually finishing with a new record lap time of 7 minutes and 16.04 seconds. That’s over 13 seconds faster than its predecessor! The lightweight model with the 1LE package includes tweaks to its design to make it more aerodynamic as well as a 650-hp V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual – a contrast to the Camaro ZL1’s ten-speed automatic.

If you want to watch the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE set a Nürburgring lap record, the video is available online. You can also call us here at Bill Roberts Chevrolet if you want more information on driving the Camaro ZL1 equipped with the 1LE package.

Enjoy The Summer But Skip The Heat

Keep Your Car Cool This Summer

Spring is officially upon us, with summer rapidly approaching, and you know what that means. Your car is about to get super hot – especially when your return to it after a long day in a parking lot.

Tips

Try to keep the temperature down this year by following these tips to keep your car cool.

  • First and foremost, always try to park indoors, in a parking garage, or at least under a tree. The shade will make an enormous difference.
  • Get yourself a quality sunshade, and if you ever have to park your vehicle in the sun, be sure to prop it up.
  • If you feel comfortable doing so, keep your windows slightly cracked for some air ventilation.
  • Throw blankets or towels over anything that you don’t want to get burning hot, like the steering wheel, seat belt buckles, or back seats.
  • If you’ve just returned to your car and know it’s going to be uncomfortably warm, open the doors and wait for a few moments. Don’t force yourself to suffer!
