Chevrolet recently announced a new concept car headed for the 2019 SEMA Show. Painted a brand-new shade of what’s been termed “Shock Yellow,” the 2019 Chevrolet Camaro concept was teased ahead of the show with slick photos that show off its new color and front-end styling.
“There’s a fresh look for the 2019 Camaro, which is restyled, reinvigorated and offers more choices and new technologies,” said Steve Majoros, director of Chevrolet Car and Crossover Marketing. “It’s the perfect canvas for personalization, and the new Shock color and available accessories demonstrate only some of the possibilities customers have to make the Camaro entirely theirs.”
New Parts & Accessories
The true purpose of the Camaro Shock Yellow Concept is to advertise some new parts and accessories Chevrolet buyers can nab. Enthusiasts will be able to purchase the new accessories next year directly through Bill Roberts Chevrolet Buick and other dealers across the country. Parts advertised include a Brembo® six-piston front brake kit, suspension upgrades, cold-air intake kits, and even Recaro® seats.
There’s also big news for those who like the shade of paint on the Chevrolet Camaro concept. Shock Yellow will be available as an option on the 2019 model-year Camaro, in addition to new available cosmetic upgrades released with the new Chevrolet Accessories line. The standard Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 set a Nürburgring record, but the brand wanted to kick it up a notch with the new Camaro ZL1 1LE. When equipped with the 1LE package, the ZL1 gets all kinds of performance upgrades that make it a natural on the racetrack. In June, Chevy teased enthusiasts with a short video of the track, hinting that that Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE had set a new Nürburgring lap record. A few days later, the brand followed it up with a video confirming that, yes, the ZL1 1LE did just that.
Chevrolet unveiled a video of the 2018 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 1LE taking the ‘Ring by storm, tearing up the track and eventually finishing with a new record lap time of 7 minutes and 16.04 seconds. That’s over 13 seconds faster than its predecessor! The lightweight model with the 1LE package includes tweaks to its design to make it more aerodynamic as well as a 650-hp V8 engine mated to a six-speed manual – a contrast to the Camaro ZL1’s ten-speed automatic.
If you want to watch the 2018 Camaro ZL1 1LE set a Nürburgring lap record, the video is available online. You can also call us here at Bill Roberts Chevrolet if you want more information on driving the Camaro ZL1 equipped with the 1LE package.
New footage has been caught of the upcoming 2017 Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 sports car – in two different colors and without any camouflage whatsoever – soaring around the track at the Nürburgring complex in Germany, and you can watch it on YouTube or below.
It’s clear from the footage that the model is well on its way to being finished, if it’s not already completed entirely. In fact, it’s safe to assume that the model in the video will be extremely similar if not the exact model ultimately available for purchase.
In the video, we can see two different versions of the ZL1 model, one of which is said to use a 10-speed automatic transmission, while the other uses a six-speed manual transmission, presenting at least two options for drivers.
We hope that this means that more official details, photos, and videos of the model are on their way, but in the meantime, this spy Chevy Camaro ZL1 video footage will suffice. Since we can enjoy the goose bump inducing sound of the supercharged 6.2L V8 that cranks out 640 horses.

Under the hood of the 2017 Camaro ZL1 lies a new supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engine that produces 640 horsepower, which is actually 60 horsepower more than the previous Camaro ZL1. The 2017 Camaro ZL1 will compete with the Dodge Challenger and Charger Hellcats, as well as the Ford Mustang GT350R that’s good for 526 ponies.
Mark Reuss, GM’s executive vice president of global product development, stated “The Camaro ZL1 is designed to excel at everything…It will compare well to any sports coupe, at any price and in any setting.”
Chevrolet states that the new Camaro ZL1 performs better than the outgoing model and is more aerodynamic. Greater airflow is allowed through the design of the lower grille opening. The new Camaro’s large front splitter, wing-style rear spoiler, and wide front fenders all help improve aerodynamics and stability.
The hood is also improved, as it now has a carbon-fiber insert and heat extractor, which helps keep the engine compartment cooler. The design also includes the open bowtie insignia on the upper grille.
We at Bill Roberts Chevrolet Buick are stunned to see so much ‘muscle’ added to the ZL1. Visit us to see this truly powerful vehicle!
