The 2019 Buick Encore and 2019 Buick Envision might be considered small SUVs, but they go big when it comes to safety. These two Buick models were recently recognized by U.S. News & World Report’s the 20 Safest Small SUVs of 2019 list.
To determine the smalls SUVs that earned a place on this list, U.S. News & World Report editors went through crash test ratings, while also examining standard and available safety features. The list includes both premium and mainstream crossovers.
For the Encore, this recognition came in thanks to its National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) safety scores of four stars on the rollover tests and five stars in all other tests. It offers consumers a standard rearview camera, along with available driver-assistance features like Rear Cross Traffic Alert, Blind Spot Monitoring, Lane Departure Warning, Forward Collision Warning, and front and rear parking sensors.
Like the Encore, the 2019 Envision was also recognized for its NHTSA safety rating. It received five stars in the side crash tests and four stars in the frontal crash and rollover tests. The Envision comes with a standard rearview camera, but also offers standard rear parking sensors and GM’s Teen Driver system, allowing you to monitor your teen driver’s driving habits. Other available features include a 360-degree camera, a head-up display, and many driver-assistance technologies.
